Living in the South has been an adjustment to this Yankee. Growing up, heading back to school meant the fall, cooler temps, sweaters, shorter days and falling leaves. Here in the South, though, back to school came August 1 which still means summer, hot temps, long days, and more. The one good thing about it means spending family evenings outside even after a long day at school!
