It's pumpkin carving time!!!

We were all set to carve this year's pumpkin!
I had higher hopes for this year after being left to do last year's all on my own.
Ellen was older, more eager to plan out the carving, more excited about it--surely she'd help me out this year, right?!?

Yeah...not so much!  She was all for it until we got to the "pull the guts out part" and she was done!  She was happy to oversee the process but there was no getting her hands dirty!
It always surprises me since she totally IS a "get-your-hands-dirty" kind of girl.  Just not when it comes to pumpkin guts (or "fibrous strands" as she lets me know--thanks, Mrs. Parrish :)
We decided on this "creepy guy" for our design.
And another "don't want to get my hands dirty" guy came in at the end to nit-pik our design technique...
It turned out great!  Although I guess after all of my hard work, I forgot to take a photo of it lit up outside on the front steps.  I also forgot to take a photo of the cul-de-sac all decorated.  Oh yeah, Halloween is only a close 2nd to Christmas around here--decorations are crazy!!!
