Well, we made it to Fall Break & our first official family vacation! The car was packed (after a lot of running around and throwing stuff here & there) & we were on the road. We left in the evening with hopes of the kids sleeping--ha! Mary Elizabeth did but Ellen--no so much. So around 11 o'clock once she hit "over-tired, cranky, I-can't-get-comfortable-in-this-car-seat" mode, we decided it would be best to stop in Birmingham. She loved sleeping in her first hotel room!
We were back on the road the next morning and ended up in Inlet Beach safe & sound ready for some R & R!!!

Running down the shoreline is also tons of fun!
There was a baby ray right up on the shore--which made me rethink future swims in the ocean. I may be a beach bum but I'm not a fan of swimming with critters!
