Pigtails!!!

Best seat in the house!

I am seriously behind on blogging!!!! Well, way back in March, this was the view in our living room most afternoons. I would pick Ellen up from school, we'd head home and this is where she'd hang while watching a little afternoon TV. Occasionally there might be a little gift when she finally got up but not always ;) More on this later though...

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

How does a toddler spend a beautiful end to Spring Break????
Making Daddy chase her around the cul-de-sac, of course!
And checking out Daddy's boat...
I can see many hours spent on the water in this little girl's future...
especially if it means she gets to spend quality time with her favorite guy!
(And the bumper stickers came with the boat, FYI!)

Picnic with Friends

Over Spring Break (yes, back in March!), some of my teacher friends & I got together at Centennial Park for a picnic with our respective kids & grandkids. We had tons of fun hanging out, enjoying the beautiful weather & feeding the ducks!

Now I can reach things in the kitchen safely.
Here's to washing my hands at the sink...
and helping Mommy cook!
Thanks Daddy!!!

Spring Break 2011

What a better way to spend spring break than with a trip from our favorite Nana?!?!?! And this time it was so much more fun now that Ellen can actually say "nana"--it's pretty cute I have to admit! Here are some photos of our morning at the zoo together:
This would be Ellen's sign for "I hear something." She does it a lot!
I think she hears something again...
We had such a great time spending our spring break with Nana. We miss you and can't wait to see you again soon!!!

through the looking glass

The Nashville Public Library has the best puppet shows for children! The program is nationally acclaimed and puts on wonderful performances almost every Friday and Saturday at the downtown library. We try to go every chance we get!
This time we grabbed our best bud, Emma Claire, for the show...
which was "Alice In Wonderland!"
Although this show was mostly real people, as opposed to puppets, the show was still great and the girls had a great time. Afterwards they were hosting a "Mad Hatter Tea Party" which turned out to be maddeningly crowded, so we opted for our own little picnic in the library courtyard.
What a great way to start out a tradition of many "girls days out" in our future!
