Who says New Jersey is all industrial smokestacks?
There's more to the good ole Garden State than what you can see from Newark International Airport!
We visited a little farm near my mom's when we got back to NJ after our visit with my dad, Olive & the girls.
Ellen loved the animals! Maybe it reminded her of her "country" roots, being Nashville-born and all. :)
She also got to experience her first beach trip! Janice invited us back to one of my favorite childhood places--Ship Ahoy beach club!
I have so many great memories here--we pretty much lived here from sunrise to sunset (and sometimes after) from Memorial Day to Labor Day while growing up.
Many hours were spent on this beach and pool playing, hanging out with friends, at swim team practice....seriously good childhood memories. It's probably one of the biggest things I miss about NJ and wish my kids could experience. Those summers at the beach were the best!
Teddy & Tommy were there...
...so was Jimmy but somehow I missed getting his picture. Sorry, Jimmy!
Ellen checking out the planes flying by with advertising...
A favorite pasttime--climbing on the jetty...
The boys tackling some serious waves! ;)
Ellen loved the beach but wasn't too interested in getting anywhere near the ocean yet. We'll see what the future holds...
We miss you Ship Ahoy!
