A couple of months before her birthday, Grandma Nancy mentioned going to the beach in June to celebrate her birthday. While part of me was thrilled (I am a beach girl at heart :), I was having a hard time planning ahead at that point in time. We were getting ready to put the house on the market & didn't know where we'd be in June. School was ending and I wasn't prepared to head out of town the day after our last day when that time of year is so crazy. And, it was going to be Ellen's first birthday! My mom wanted to be here for that & I was being a bit sentimental about having her first birthday at our house and not on vacation. So, after some consideration, the beach plans fell through.
That's when Jessica suggested a dinner party for Nancy's 60th. We decided to have it a little bit before her birthday and to make it a surprise! Everyone deserves a good surprise party at some point in time, right?!?!?! And, Jessica was a pro at party planning after planning her own 30th party last June.
So, we had the date, the location, the guest list & now for the details. I have to say Jessica (& J.J.) did 90% of the work, but we helped out a little :) Here are a few photos of the evening:
And, here's the little lady still partying at 10 pm with Nana! Apparently the solid-7 o'clock bedtime does not apply when there's a party going on :)
Now, I know there are no photos of the guest-of-honor. I brought my camera fully intending on catching some good shots but instead I ended up spending my time sweating (man, it was hot!) and chasing a little almost-one-year-old-party-girl around! Luckily, we did have a photographer there so as soon as I get those photos, I'll update this post with some.
Happy 60th, Grandma Nancy!!!!! Hope you enjoyed your day!!!!
