Photos & more photos

Since I haven't gotten my camera back yet with all of our NY/NJ photos, I haven't posted very much lately. Also school has started back & I've been pretty busy & tired & trying to spend my extra time with Ellen & not on the computer :) She looks so serious in the last post about church, so I thought I'd better post some fun photos too! Here are some we've taken around the house the last couple of weeks:

I think she's so happy because she gets to spend her days wth her wonderful daddy now that Mommy is back at work. There's nothing like daddy & his little girl!

Although I'm just now blogging about it, last week was Ellen's first trip to church! I always said once I had kids I'd be better about going, so here is my attempt to living up to my word :) (we are actually ready to head out the door for week 2 as we speak, so so far so good!) She was really good--she hung out in the sling & even slept through some of it. Hopefully today goes as smoothly! On a side note--thanks to Grandma Nancy for this adorable outfit. I can't believe it fits her already!!!!!

Mini-update

We had a great time on our trip to NJ/NY this past weekend. Ellen was FABULOUS on the plane ride--we were so glad to not be "those people" with the screaming infant on the plane :) I have a bunch of photos to share but of course left my camera in NJ! As soon as my mom sends it to me, I will post about the weekend. Today was my first official day back to work! Ellen joined me & was such a sweetie at school. She was so polite--smiling and laughing for everyone who wanted to see her & hold her. I was very proud!!! Tomorrow starts "Daddy Daycare" and back to work for real for Mommy. I know things will go well but I will definitely miss her smiles during the day...

NYC & NJ

I finally got my camera back--thanks Mom!--so I can post some photos from Ellen's first trip! We had a lot of firsts this weekend--many of them on public transportation! First plane ride, first train ride, etc. I thought I had taken a lot more photos than I did, but here they are:

Our flight left bright and early (around 6:15 am), so we had to leave the house around 4-ish. Yuck :) Here's Ellen at the airport waiting to board the plane.

She was great on the plane! She slept during take off and was happy while she was awake. Thank God! We didn't want to be THOSE people with the screaming kid!

We headed over to Janice's moms for a little lunch on Saturday. Teddy loved the baby! I think she was a bit smitten too :)

The trip was great--it was a whirlwind but we had a great time. It was so nice to see everyone! We can't wait to head back up to the northeast again at Christmas!

2 Months Today!

I can't believe it--Ellen is 2 months old today! Although it's flown by, its hard to remember what life was like without her...What did I do all summer???

An apple a day...

Keeps the doctor away--but not today! Ellen had her 2 month check-up today. She's doing great! She's grown to 22.5 inches & is up to 11.5 pounds. The doctor said everything looked good! Now for the yucky part--shots! She got her first round of a bunch of vaccinations. She got a DTap, HIB, IPV, PCV & rotavirus vaccines. She also would have gotten a hepatitis B shot but they were out of the vaccine right now. They really do load them up! I can see why some people prefer to spread them out a bit...Overall, she did well. She was pretty cranky when we got there since it was naptime, but she powered through. She wasn't a happy camper during the shots but she made it & is now at home resting quietly. Maybe we'll get a nap longer than 30 minutes out of her today :) The doctor also gave us a prescription for Zantac to try to help with her reflux. I'm not one to medicate, but if we can make her more comfortable, I'm all for it. We'll see how it goes...

Our First Play Date

Ellen had her first play date tonight! Melissa & Chris had to take Owen to visit his new school, so we packed up & headed over to hang out with Emma Claire. The girls got along fabulously & I see a long friendship in their future :)
